I know weight can add up! I have an AR10 in 243win and weighs over 15# without the mag, but I also have a 308win version (20") weighs 6.6# with optic and mbuis. Light weight is doable and could be less than what I've done.

The Saint .308 is light. Couple ounces off the Ruger

Add couple lbs for a 20 rd mag, scope and its a m1 garand weight.

Man up and shoot the blessed thing.

If you want a lightweight AR, shoot a .22 at rabbits

When you can reduce the amount of recoil felt or not, it makes a gun handle very fast and on target. Using body mechanics to enhance speed makes it even faster.

Yes sir
I handle a .308 from 7pm-5am on hog hunts.
Three 20 rd mags in my chest rig

Occasionally an Fn Fal
You can maneuver a well made .308 just fine quickly. .308 Recoil is not an issue for me.
