Vehicles are great pieces of cover and concealment. Vehicles may not always stop bullets, but in many cases the bullets are destroyed to the point of being ineffective once they exit the friendly side of the vehicle.

Really, how many folks actually carry a rifle all the time, and if they do, how many of those are readily accessible? If you’ve got time to get a rifle out of a locked case in the trunk, you’ve got time to leave the area. If you carry a rifle in the passenger compartment you’re asking to have it stolen.
