Rifle Weight Vs. Rifle Accuracy

Just how tightly are rifle weight and rifle accuracy interwoven?

How do we get back to a practical rifle in weight, balance and cartridge, knowing that most of what’s out there today is trending to the games that favor puny bullets fired from boat anchors?

Hard hitting semi-auto suppressible 7.62x51 NATO / .308 Win. with repeatable < MOA accuracy in a well balanced 10 pound package... I would prefer an 18" barrel, but this 16.25" version will do everything I need it to and more.

There are good points and/or statements made in the article, but at least there was a somewhat of a disclaimer made also. Finding the weight per cartridge and use is always a key. I've been trying to have at max weight of a complete rifle w/scope no more than 8#. I'm really trying for under 7 with a 338lm. Scope weight is the biggest hurdle for a long-range optic. Short actions are easy to get under that weight.
