RIP Suzanne Somers

To bad the cure for cancer isn't available due to big pharm and the government! My mother in law (55 yo), her 6th oldest child (45 at the time), my grandfather (73 and was a smoker) and numerous close friends have died with this epidemic (yes, it's an epidemic)!
My wife and I sat one afternoon and just quickly counted the people in our family, co workers and friends who had cancer. We ended up with 25 we could think of. 15 were in my family, cowirkers friends etc. 3 are survivors of over 10 years including my wife.

She was so talented and was such a giving soul. Cancer sucks so much. My stepdad died from a rare form of leukemia they think was linked to Agent Orange. His case made the AMA medical journals, but that and all the top notch oncologists at BAMC couldn’t save him. Sorry…still hurts. I digress…Ms Somers was a unique person and she will be sorely missed. Chrissy Snow was a pure soul.

8 yrs ago a family member was told she had cancer, stage 4.........
End of post. 😪
My wife's brother that died at 45 wad told he had 3 months to live (37 or 38 at the time) lived those 7 or 8 more years. No chemo or radiation treatments as he knew what it was doing to his mother. He worked at an oncology center and only his doctor knew he had cancer. He never smoked. At the time my daughter was born she was 2 months old and we (me, wife and 4 kids) stayed in Dallas the last 2 months of his life to be with him ('07). It's a hard fight!

My Dad just finished his bout of radiation treatment for lung cancer two Fridays ago. Thirteen years ago he beat prostate cancer.
My family history, paternal, is a cancer story all its own.
My side of the family also has a history of various cancers including mine that has no cure.
I went to a Geneticist to see if I had any markers for my daughter and granddaughter to look for and have none.
She said in my case it was the luck of the draw.
So, for now every day I see the sky is a good day...

I have had a few skin cancers. Most recent was a serious one on my nose. It took 3 months of radiation to get rid of. I try to stay covered up but sun and heat in New Mexico make it pretty hard. As a matter of fact going to doctor today to have one removed on my arm which I am sure is cancerous.
