Ruger 22lr

javbike

Hellcat

Everybody’s had one these mine was older model where it was a bear to clean and put back together anyway I finally got rid of it last year I kinda of miss it

I have 2 Ruger Mark IVs. Very easy to disassemble/reassemble to clean etc. Both mine were recalled due to an issue where the gun could fire when engaging the safety (without pulling the trigger). Although mine never experienced that, I had to send back both pistol frames. Ruger customer service was great. Turn around about 1 week and they gave me 2 free mags (one for each gun), for the trouble.

I heard that about their customer service top notch glad it work out for you Bet7 . I had an older one you had to pull down on the lever by the back of the grip and that little lever had to rock in there just right . I heard the newer ones was a easy take down

Yeah Jav, I’ve heard that about the older models, that they were a bear to disassemble & reassemble. I read that some would send them into the NRA to reassemble them as they were that hard to do. I’m glad mine are nowhere near that difficult.

My older one is a bear to take apart and put back together. nothing like the newer ones.

Some of the older MK II were also barrel stamped Government Target (special government specs for their target gun). They are 6.88" bull barrel and were manufactured differently than the other MK II's. The chambers were manufactured differently also, don't know what, but it made this little bull barrel even more accurate. My BIL has had one since the late 80's, uses it regularly on his property, and it is still extremely accurate. If I'm not mistaken even the barrel twist rate is different on the government target model, 1/15" while all the other factory MK II's are 1/16".

Yes all MK II's are a bit tough to disassemble/assemble until you learn the little tricks, then it's as easy as any other gun.

I have an MK IV LITE that is a nice shooter but not as accurate as the government target.

looking at the Ruger, then the Glock, why is there so much BS about Glocks grip angle, being hard to deal with, when i can clearly see the Ruger's is worse..???

This is the major reason I never was interested in the Ruger .22 pistols. I loved their single and double action revolvers but did not like that .22 pistol.

When I got my first carry license from PA. ( I have always lived in Illinois ) I wanted a Glock 26. I went into my LGS and tried it out. I didn't like it and left . After a couple days I went back and pawed that 26 some more , still didn't feel right so I left again. I was still convinced I needed a Glock so about a week later I went in my LGS again and decided I just needed a bigger Glock , so I tried the 19. It didn't feel right for me either so I went with something else.

with "most" Glocks, you get backstraps

what i did for my G-17, was cut in half a backstrap, and simply attached it to the other back strap, but i did need a longer pin.

i changed the grip just enough to work for me.

the web of my hand fits nicely onto the cutoff piece.
