I own and carry a .38 Special frequently. It's a hand cannon blaster with the short stock grip. I installed Hogue extended grips on ours, and that tamed the recoil considerably. Huge improvement in shootability.

While the LCR is a nice gun with a very good trigger I’m really really interested in the S&W 432 UC in 32 H&R hopefully I can run a cylinder through one this weekend!
