Rust on inner parts of my XD-9 Mod 2

I field strip my EDC XD-9 at least every 30 days. Give it a light cleaning and light oiling. With this in mind, I was kind of shocked to see rust, real rust on the trigger bar. This had to form within that 30 days or so. My PT-92 I have had for many years, it has been threw hell and back and I never seen it like that. So now I am worried about the other internal parts I cant see. I depend on my XD-9 24/7 now that I am an older dog (old school). This is my first polymer gun and thinking maybe I should go back to the PT-92. I know I can trust it. Should I get some kind of spray gun cleaner/oil to make sure I stop any rust deep in side? I am not hip with the idea of soaking a gun with oil........

I hear a lot of do it yourselfers suggest all kinds of things and maybe if I had taken my guns down past a field strip I’d be more willing to self diagnose but I don’t and it’s the trigger bar...I’d give Customer Service a call and have a detail of how the weapon is stored and used. I think, for peace of mind, that’s the best path. They’re available Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30 CST via phone at 1-800-680-6866. Please let us know how the conversation goes.
