S/A 35

Old_Me

SAINT
went to my LGS this morning, to sell my G-19. while there i had asked about the availability of the S/A 35.

they had 7 , but all were "spoken for", in the ready line..

selling price, from what i had seen on the box was....$799.99.

according to the salesmen that i have come to know, it was said that any extractor "problems" have been taken care of.

one of the guys, opened up a box, let me handle one....it felt really good, weighty, (about like my CZ 75B) but only 1 magazine comes with it. should be at least 2.

i might go back someday this week, and get my name on "the list" as well.

Getting rid of a G19…….blasphemous…..😬😬
frankly, i got rid of my 21 as well.

i have left, my original 17, and 30, those will stay for a while longer for the home defense, and a G44 for fun plinking times....

i am highly favoring the all metal semi-automatics for 9mm. thanks in part to the 92FS and the Girsan Regard.

9 mm is so much more fun to shoot now. almost as fun as any of my 1911's.

frankly, i got rid of my 21 as well.

Got a SA-35 a few weeks ago at the LGS, as 2 came in and I was 1st in line for orders. I too was disappointed that it only came with one mag, and a little disappointed my LGS only knocked $20 off MSRP (they're usually $50 under firearm MSRPs). But if $799 is what your LGS is true selling them for @Old_Me, I guess I should feel grateful. Whatever the cost you pay, good luck with getting one, it's a sharp looking pistol for sure.

Have you been to the range yet? Did I miss that post?

I'm not sure if it will help any of you, but the SA-35 is on Springfield's IOP list. Springfield's IOP Program is pretty generous, and it's open to active LEO's, retired LEO's, active duty military, retired military, honorably discharged veterans, and several other groups. I purchased mine through an LE dealer. It took a few months to arrive, but I placed my order as soon as the SA-35 was announced and I believe they held the guns back for a bit to ensure that the extractor issue was fixed. It may be worth looking into, especially if you have an LE dealer in your area.

well, i went to the club with a buddy of mine, we shot my Kimber Custom II, and he had his Remington 1911. after that, i took a ride to my LGS, and inquired about what's to be done to get the SA 35. was told at least a $100 deposit is needed, so i gave that to him.

when it comes in, i'll get an email with the serial number.

all i can do is wait for thier deliveries.

just now, put on order 3 mags from S/A as well

WOWSERS.....!!

i just got an email from FedEx.....apparently they took possession of my new mags for the S/A 35, and should be here next monday?

sheesh, i was actually expecting a much longer shipping time.

now, i hope my LGS can get the new arrivals of 35's just as quick..!!

No Simon, not yet. I believe another forum member recently picked one up and did a range report. Sadly, I'm still in buying mode, and haven't yet made it to the range with any of my several new purchases. But I'm hoping I eventually get there.
I have a very small list should you feel sorry for an old guy who doesn't have any money. 😟

Well gentlemen, I'm sad to report I took my SA-35 out today for the first time and didn't even get 100 rounds of Blazer Brass 115 grain through it and it failed to extract twice.
I am beyond bummed out. Really had my hopes up because I waited and got a serial numbered one in the high 3300's and thought for sure it would be good to go.
Been walking around all evening like I lost my dog. LoL But I know it's not that bad and will call SA tomorrow about it.
Will keep you posted.

i'll keep this in mind, when i get mine, to check the serial number.

i also have a selection of factory ammo, from S&B, Blazer, Lawman, and Fiocchi, to try that day i take mine.

and also, from only one video that i had seen, i am going to check the extractor area for some factory machining "gunk", that they did not do a good job of cleaning, that can be the cause of this problem

I did the extractor shake test when I first got the gun and it held just fine. Got through the first 50 round box with no problems plus 3 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense to ensure it would run the good stuff and then a couple mags in of the second 50 round box it stove piped. The case had a very visible scar where the extractor tried to grab it. Then a couple mags later it did it again while my wife's step dad was running it and the case had a very minimal scar on it.
Finished off the box and decided to save my ammo.
I know SA will take care of it. Just hate that I will be without it for a while after finally getting my hands on one.

well, as i do not know now, what my serial numbered one will be, i'll just have to hope it's now into the low 4's.

(when i get the email saying mine is in, then it'll have the serial number listed)

that still is no guarantee of course.
