No experience with them but there are a variety of Youtube videos out there on them to review:Anybody own one of these in .45 ?
Any gripes? Does it have that Scwartz safety system (I don’t know much about those).
I have an opp to buy one but I’m leery of it, for some reason.
Ugh... that’ll probably kill the deal for me. I don’t much like the 80 series, and even though Swartz isn’t exactly that, at my age I need simplicity more and more ! Or just to not have too much ‘non-standard’ stuff... it also has that extended extractor or whatev the call it.I don’t have any of these, but my Kimber Duel tone 1911’s both have the Swartz safety. The safety works off the grip safety, similar to the series 80 safety, one piece of information with a 1911 with the Swartz safety is, do not grip the gun and activate the grip safety when disassembling the gun, the grip safety is what activates the Swartz system and gripping the gun and squeezing the grip safety while taking the slide off will jam and get the slide stuck, and in turn ruin the Swartz safety, and you will definitely have fun trying to get the slide off then.
That’s why I like the offerings from Springfield, they don’t have any of those safeties, they got the titanium firing pins for the drop safety situation. I completely forgot that Kimbers had those safeties until I disassembled them, remembered in a big hurry then...lolUgh... that’ll probably kill the deal for me. Nice looking gun though. Reminds of the Ronin.
