I'm thinking of buying one of these. $ 999.00 here on the gulf coast of Florida. Pricey for an alloy 22 ! Just wondering if anyone has one and is it worth it?!

I have a couple 617's (same pistol, just all stainless instead of an alloy frame) and I like them, a lot.

Thanks. But still those prices for an aluminum 22lr! Even the cylinder is aluminum!

They’re still under $1k, at least around here.

Now I'm confused. Isn't the 617 on the K-frame, and the 317 is a J-frame? Not the same pistol at all.

You’re right; I was thinking that the -17 indicated K frame…but S&W messed with their system.

I’ve got a 43C, which is basically a hammerless, short barreled version.

I really like it; carry it often.

There’s no worries about the aluminum cylinder.
