S&W MODEL 66 SNUBBIE

I carried a Model 19 2.5 inch as a detective for a couple of years. I carried my Model 27 5 inch off duty and on, until I could afford the M19 as an off duty. I paid $174 new for it. It is a great shooter and I still have it. Later I bought a Model 66 2.5 inch from another detective who needed money, but I thought it was redundant so I traded it. I still have seller's remorse 40 years later. These are great revolvers and I would never feel under armed when carrying one.

Something about a short barreled Kframe makes me giggle like a school girl. They just were in all the holsters of the guys I grew up looking up to, including guys on the silver screen. When I was old enough to pull the trigger myself I found they were perhaps the closest thing to perfect I found.

Oddly enough I have never owned the smith version. But that is going to be rectified soon.

There is a romantic attraction, they look mean and beautiful, all at once.
