Not to many people know that S&W actually forged the early Kimber 1911 frames and slides for a bit.

sw had a line of 1911s, even some with scandium frames like some of thier revolvers. Ouch that makes me remember shooting thier scandium 44 magnum with full blown magnum, 5 shots and my hand was numb.

Anyways, Tom Selleck used a Smith 1911 in the Jesse Stone movies.
