I don't know what Springfield uses for the spring weight.
Wolff Springs shows the Browning Hi-Power as 17 LB.
BROWNING 1935 (HI POWER) 9MM & .40S&W
A difference in the weight of the hammer spring could affect the recoil spring weight required, since both work against the recoiling slide.

Just my opinion, I find that Springfield uses lighter recoil springs in their metal framed pistols. I have run into this several times with my guns. I just replace them with the industry standard recoil springs so on the SA-35, what ever is the standard rate I would use it.
