There are currently two basic types of shotgun slugs — rifled and sabot. There is some confusion that these are the same, but that’s not actually correct. However, both slugs share some similarities.

None of my shotguns have rifled barrels and I have no immediate plans to buy one with a rifled barrel. Of all of the things I use a shotgun for, long range ( 100 yards plus) accuracy is not one of them.
