The carrier is a proprietary shorter design from Maxim Defense and the bolt is mil-spec allowing for the use of the shorter Maxim buffer tube.Hello. New to the FORUM. Vietnam Vet. Not new to AR's but new to AR Pistol. Is the Compact SAINT EDGE bolt carrier a MIL SPEC size as the standard. It's proprietary to Maxim Defense brace, cant's swap it out without changing the brace.Hello. New to the FORUM. Vietnam Vet. Not new to AR's but new to AR Pistol. It wouldn't fit, the buffer plunges into the BCG directly, where it's half seated within the BCG, and not just by contact into the buffer tube.Out of curiosity, can you change out the brace and put a full size BCG in the PDW? Will the receiver accept it or is the receiver smaller than mil spec?
The upper is mill spec size, its just the buffer tube thats shorter and requires a shorter bolt.Out of curiosity, can you change out the brace and put a full size BCG in the PDW? Will the receiver accept it or is the receiver smaller than mil spec?
Edge PDWs? Maxim braces? Yes, you'll pay a premium for them though. Or did you mean the short BCG? Those are specific to the PDW and not sold independently. Are they available?
Check Armslist, Gunbroker, Texasguntrader and online forums in general, your local gun stores may have them but you'll have to research as they're in demand. Thanks, I'd grab a five inches complete if SA has them?
