Question,
I just purchased a new Tungsten Gray Saint Victor rifle in 5.56. During the first clean and lubrication (after initial range qualification), I noticed a few small pieces of what looked like carbon paper debris (remember that stuff) around the barrel extension where the bolt locking lugs lock up. I cleared them out and in examining the inside of the upper receiver, I could see that this debris was coming from the center of the inside portion of the upper receiver behind the gas tube. It looks like it is flaking off in two small areas where the bolt carrier moves back and forth. The area in question feels smooth to the touch and probably many would not notice except for the debris. Is this normal? I showed it to the agency armorers and they had not seen this before, but I am the first one to purchase a platform with a color coating other than traditional black.
Thanks
