Our Realistic End of the World Situation

Everyone has a different vision of what they are training and preparing for. It centers on something called Scenario-X.

It is a imaginary disaster scenario. It doesn’t have to be a storm, but could instead be a pandemic, riot, collapse of society, zombie apocalypse or anything else. The point is that the normal lines of supply, authority, and societal consequences are no longer present. In order to sustain life, you and your group are now more or less on your own.
This whole scenario is the backdrop for other decisions you and your group now have to make.

Said it here before, I do not plan AT ALL for this. Being a type-1 diabetic if the grid goes down, I will be dead in short order no matter what I do (within my moral boundaries). Yes, I buy 3-months' supply at a time, but when it's gone, I'm not going around killing others for their stash of insulin. Takes quite a load off my shoulders! And BTW, insulin is perishable and cannot be frozen or stock-piled. Ironic how my life literally depends on the relations between China and the US (95% of all insulin distributed throughout the world is made in China), as well as electricity supplied to the insulin manufacturing labs/plants in China.

I'll be one less knucklehead that ya'll have to worry about fighting for resources. I'll be happy to take bids on my address for my very modest armory and ammo stash after I kick....:ROFLMAO:. I hope the mods see my laughy-face indicates sarcasm and humor intended...

I hear ya. I'm 70 years old, got COPD, take a handful of pills every day, patched together heart and a body to match. I have no fantasies of being a long term survivor. If the S ever does HTF, I can only hunker down at home, hold out as long as I can and hopefully die quickly surrounded by spent brass rather than just slowly wasting away.

i'll offer you a dollar twee fiddy for everything you got

i am old too, so i got whatever meds, and guns ammo, and food that is here...i'd be risking life and limb to go out and forage..

it's my kids, grand-kids and great grand kids i'll most likely have to pray for and hope they survive, which given the roaming hoards of bandits, i don't think they will survive. no one, no place will be safe..

underground bunker.???

it will be found

i am a type II diabetic, with a 3 month supply as well.

when it happens, it happens....i'll put up a fight, if i have it in me, but i kinda think i'll be dead long before any apocalypse happens anyways.

the old saying.."only the strong will survive"

The moral of the story, and the first article that folks likely never read, is to be prepared for any significant disruption to normal functioning society whether its a weather event, pandemic, large-scale riots (as we've seen before), and/or crime waves that we've experienced recently.

The chances of the latter two happening has increased dramatically the last ~4 yrs.

I am between stage 3 and stage 4 COPD ( only 4 stages ) type 2 diabetes , and heart problems. If the goobers come after me , I will take out as many as I can before they get me.

In an event where we might loose power for a couple weeks , I am still a done goose because I have a home concentrator that runs 24/7/365 and enough tanks for about 8 days.
