Sedition hunters.

Bassbob

So there is a group of “ internet sleuths” who call themselves “ Sedition hunters” who have been pouring over J6 video footage and identifying rioters for the FBI. The headline today on NBC was something like “ Long Island funeral home owner arrested 2 years after J6”.

Ordinarily you could expect me to address the idea of this group of “Sedition hunters” and what kind of people these must be, but the question I can’t answer and can’t get past is how these capitol rioters can be arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced based on random video clips shot by people who were there. And according to NBC this group has identified hundreds of them.

There is a long list of murders in St. Louis alone that I know of which were caught on video and the charges were dropped because you cannot convict someone based on video evidence without corroborating witness testimony.

So explain to me how the guy who murderers 3 people and is caught on video gets a pass, but someone who was spraying pepper spray at members of the media and yelling at capitol police is now facing a couple years in prison?

Because those Sedition Hunters aren't looking for justice. They want retribution.

It always struck me as odd, that just a few months before Antifa, BLM or whoever you want to blame was rioting, looting and burning other major cities and the government just let it slide. But when trouble came to their own door, now they're out to find and punish every single person there. Its about sending a message.

Perhaps there is a different burden of proof between what Federal law they are charging and the states murder law?
Maybe. But it’s discretionary. There have been high profile incidents where the state didn’t levy a charge, so the feds did. There are even examples of the double jeopardy clause being abused by the feds filing charges against someone who was acquitted in state court.

J6 fits the agenda, whereas 2020 Summer of Peaceful Demonstrations (aka Riots), and inner city violence/burglaries' don't.
and maybe i missed it, but the people charged and their attorneys.. are they entering into the evidence the REAL VIDEO of the capital grounds and mall, that was shot by the capitol security office, WHY THE CAPITOL police OPENED a HARDENED security door on the side of the building and motioned for people to come in? HOW about the video of the capitol police waving people inside and through the building like he was giving a tour? WE watched this LIVE on cspan, and it was live footage from the capitols own video cameras set up to allow people not in DC to see the capitol and enjoy, its a friggin live feed 24/7

the doors open OUT not IN and capitol police OPENED those doors
the people outside could nto have opened them once the doors were shut as they are emergency operation only and have hardened security locks in side that set when door is closed, but do allow for emergency opening from INSIDE

no one seems to ever address this, my senators and representatives fail to account for it

so how can a person be charged for entering, if the POLICE waved you in via security door? ???

Murder is not a federal crime ?

See, like I said, it is when it suits them. It's discretionary.
Yes, and no....murder is considered a state crime except in specific instances.
