The sad thing here is that this bear will be drawn to houses because the bears have come to see a house as a source of food. Should they become a problem the state conservation people will be forced to relocate them. This is what has happened to some of the bears I see up in the western part of Va where I have a house. Once relocated most of those bears are still drawn to houses looking for food, and it's the kiss of death for many. My neighbor who's a mile down the road would shoot a stray bear in a heart-beat if it showed up on his doorstep whether or not bears are in season. During the bear season they are easy pickings because they stay in the low areas where there are more houses. Apparently this lady doesn't understand that what she is doing will probably shorten this bear's life.
