Selling Firearms

Has anyone used Guns.com to sell a firearm they don't want or need anymore? State has made it hard to sell privately and all sales need a NICS check by-law. Local LGS not buying guns because of excess stock on hand.

I never really tried to sell any guns, if I do, my brother is usually interested in what I got and he buys them, when I worked at my sheriff dept, I did sell a G26 to a deputy for him to use as a backup weapon.

I have arranged a number of transactions on Sig Forum, Colt Forum, S&W Forum, and Gulf Coast Gun Forum. All the transactions except local ones went through an FFL. Never had any problems other than some buyers trying to lowball. With that said I prefer to deal face to face. Proceed with caution and check reputation of sellers if buying.

So many folks on the other gun forums complain about how GunBroker operates and all the crooked folks that post guns for sale. It's like walking in a minefield! I believe that https://www.gunsinternational.com is a better deal. You set your price and wait and see if you get a response. Like Hayes advises: Proceed with caution and learn what to watch out for.

nope, not me.

i wish not to deal with any website to sell any of my stuff.

i'd rather go to the large LGS and do business there and leave with quick cash in hand.

am i possibly losing money?

most likely yes, but the time and effort it takes to drive to the LGS is far better than taking pics, then write up a description, and then maybe answer questions, from no real buyers, but window shoppers,..????

far outweighs all that aggravation.

Plus, it’s a lot safer to do so, this way the shop is responsible for anything pertaining to the gun

I have used Guns.com. Like anywhere else you have to prepare yourself for what they offer. Fortunately, they are significantly higher than most on what they charge for guns so their offers are usually “decent”. If you’re one of those guys who wants to sell a gun with 1000 rds through it for what he bought it for you’re probably going to be disappointed. But you can always say no thanks, which I’ve done a couple of times.

I've never had a problem on Gunbroker. The whole process is easy to complete both thru GB & and to the end game at your FFL.

One just needs to know how to weed out the good from the bad sellers if you're patient enough & do some research, and wait for a decent deal to come up for what you're interested in.

It's a lot easier to go through the GB process than it is to buy a vehicle at a auto dealership.
