Shooter stopped

This happened in Fort Smith, AR, city about 40 miles south of where I live. Interesting story, I hope the citizen who stopped this guy doesn't get prosecuted.

Witnesses at the scene say a man tried to lure neighbors outside of their apartments before he shot and killed 87-year-old Lois Hicks.

Tough choice to male, but I think he did the right thing. To me it all comes down to this, if the police showed up and he was doing that, what would they have done? You can argue all day long about the details, but the fact is, if he was shooting at apartments he was a danger to the lives of many.

I agree. I hope they don't try to prosecute him. With our current political climate toward firearms, you just never know.

Sounds like the old guy had a break with reality. Perhaps he was suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's. If that was the case his family should have secured his guns before this. It's still awful that it happened, and hopefully the man who shot him won't face any charges.

Based on the info in the article, he had an immediate and articulable fear for the lives of others. It’s a clean shoot. If they try it’s pure politics.

What a travesty. From what I read the guy who shot the original shooter lived in the apartment complex? I would say that’s a good shoot, basically protecting himself and others from being killed.
