SHOT Show 2024: The Glock 49

Another Glock variant, the G49, almost reminds me of the XDs 4.0 pistols

Kinda.

This has been a hack of Glocks for a LOOOOONG time—putting a 17 slide on a 19 frame (with putting a 19 slide on a 26 frame being a close second—did that myself at one point).

It’s a good combo.

Just an opinion, but I listed mine on gb. I have a 17 and a 19; I like both separately. I’m not particularly fond of the mash up of parts used, using a 19 recoil assembly on slightly heavier 17 slide; maybe I’m wrong but won’t this wear out quicker? Perhaps it’s minimal and most won’t even notice. Then there is the aesthetics.
The dust cover and shortened frame combo are just imo fugly.
Every year I keep thinking Glock gonna do something new and exciting, and it’s more of the same.

It shouldn’t wear out anything actually, on the G26 9mm and the G27 40s&w both use the same RSA, same part number, the G17 and G34 also the same RSA, Glock frames are made to flex during recoil and will actually absorb any additional force if any with no dire results

I can and have switched between g17, g22 & g31 frames and slides as being all the same and have done so with the 20, 21, 40 & 41. Just supporting your statements. I know that all are full size frames, but still all the same when switching between frame size.
