EL LOBO

Custom
Whoever said you can’t have your cake and eat it too never stumbled upon the Sightmark Wolfhound 6x44 and M-Spec Mini Shot Kit. Military-inspired, these two optics keep you on target no matter the situation.

Ballistically matched to .223, 55, and 62-grain ammunition, the Wolfhound 6x44 features an advanced horseshoe reticle with holdovers from 300 to 900 yards while the M-Spec Mini Shot provides an easy-to-find 3 MOA reticle, allowing an effortless shot from short to long-range. These two optics boast impressive battery lives; while the Wolfhound’s etched reticle can remain illuminated upwards to 4,000 hours, the M-Spec Mini Shot features the ability to last up to 30,000 hours. It also has a flash kill honeycomb insert for the objective lens.

Fully Multicoated
Lens coatings make a significant difference in how bright and sharp the image will be. Without Anti-Reflective coatings, glass reflects four to five percent of light. With ten or more glass surfaces in riflescopes, it is possible fifty percent of light would be lost as it passes through all lenses in a riflescope. Anti-Reflective coatings reduce reflected light to about one to two percent per glass surface. Anti-Reflective coatings greatly increase light transmission, resolution, contrast, color fidelity, reduce reflections, and reduce light scattering and glare.

HS-223 Reticle
The Sightmark Wolfhound is equipped with the HS-223 horseshoe reticle. The HS-223 is designed for close and long-range shooting with the addition of ballistic holdovers designed for the .223 Remington 55 and 62-grain cartridge. The outer circle is utilized for quick target acquisition at close ranges. The 5 MOA central aiming dot provides exceptional accuracy at the 100 yards and beyond. A secondary .5 MOA aiming point lies at the base of the outer circle, providing a 300-yard holdover reference. The remaining horizontal lines below provide holdover references from 400 to 900 yards and rangefinding capability.

Rubber Armored
Durable enough to shield from impact, the Wolfhound yields scratch-resistant lenses and is made from anodized, high-grade aluminum with a rubber armor finish.

Built for LE officers and professionals, the compact Mini Shot M-Spec Reflex Sight is the perfect optic for competition shooting, hunting, and LE applications. The kit includes a low profile mount for shotguns and pistols along with a riser mount for platform rifles. This rugged optic is 100% waterproof and features a durable aluminum housing with a steel protective shield. Doubling the battery life of the competition, the Mini Shot M-Spec’s extremely low power consumption provides 300-30,000 hours of battery life on one CR1632 battery, while its 12-hour auto-shutoff prevents the unit from running out of batteries while you’re not using it. Easy windage and elevation click adjustments make zeroing the 3 MOA red dot reticle a breeze, even without any special tools. 10 brightness levels give shooters perfect reticle options from low light situations to the brightest days. An ambidextrous digital switch allows the M-Spec to be easily turned on and off by both left and right-handed shooters.

I did a test and evaluation on these Wolf Hound Scopes 5 years ago mounted on my Flat Top AR-15 .223/ 5.56 and have used one during Pig Hints I found they work well on the rifle range as well out to the 800-meter Iron Target 18" Wide X 36" Tall using the holdover in the optic I was able to ring that steel 8 out of 10 shots at 800 meters. This scope was zeroed at 200 meters. The Mini Shot was zeroed at 50 meters perfect for close-quarters engagements. I own two of these scopes one for the AR-15 .223/5.56 & One For the AR-10 .308/ 7.62 MM Sightmark Wolfhound 6x44 LR-308 LQD Prismatic Sight.
LR-308 Reticle
The Sightmark Wolfhound 6x44 is equipped with the LR-308 reticle. The LR-308 was designed for long-range shooting applications with the addition of ballistic holdovers. The reticle is ballistically matched for .308 Winchester 175 grain cartridge (7.62x51 M118LR). The .5 MOA thick duplex crosshair provides exceptional accuracy at long ranges. The remaining horizontal lines below the central aiming point provide holdover references from 200 to 800 yards.

Every Sightmark I have ever used had issues after prolonged use of shutting off and crashing due to recoil. I found they were good on my .22 and that was it. Was given several models from a friend for some ammo swap. Worse trade ever. All 3 sightmarks kept shutting down after 1-2 mags of semi consistent fire

What were the SightMark models you had? This is about Sightmark Wolf Hounds & Mini Shot M SPEC not Sightmark red dots of 10 years ago that were made for air rifles only. As a Combat Infantry Veteran I would not have a problem taking a Wolf Hound into combat they are that good.

TRA and the older element type line up 4-5 years ago. All red dots. Never would consider them ever again based on first impressions and usage . Everyone has bad experiences with products, even great ones. Thisbwas just poor craftsmanship and technology

The older Red Dots in Question were made for Air Soft & Pellet / BB Guns & Paint Ball Guns only not for AR15 High Power Rifle & They were distributed by Sightmark which they also discontinued because people were putting them on AR -15 High Power Rifle and the recoil destroyed them.

I purchased a Sightmark Sure Shot Reflex Sight to put on my SKS a few years back. Mounted it on the gun, took it to the range and it lasted 3 rounds before it went blank. This is not the same sight you are discussing but because of my experience and word of mouth about similar experiences with Sightmark products I give them a wide berth.

Sure Shot reflex sight of the time frame you are speaking were made for the Cross Bow, Airsoft, Paint ball guns, Pellet & BB guns some are still floating around and retailers were passing them off to use on High Power Rifles so SightMark discontinued them that line now they make a similar version made for High Power Rifles.
