sig's x-ten

I'm close to possibly buying 1, BUT wonder about ongoing issue(s) it has? Have they been fixed? The 1 and only sig I have (p226) has been a good gun, but with the x-ten being a 320 has me on the fence. With the issue(s) of hearing about the m&p 10mm (which I haven't had any) are fortunate. Maybe with when I purchase the x-ten it might fall just right for me? Has anyone heard good or bad about the issue(s) being fixed/cleared up?

Haven't really heard good or bad about them, but I picked one up a couple of Fridays ago (not yet shot). I have the P320s in each caliber (9mm, 357sig, 40, and 45) that were sent back for the VUP (voluntary Update Program) trigger issue. The X-TEN and the Legion X-FIVE I picked up some time ago, add to my P320 collection (other Sig pistols I have are P210 Target, P220 10mm Hunter, and pre-owned 1911 Scorpion). No problems to date on any.

SO, the vup was for issue fixes or just if you wanted to?

In my opinion, it really should have been a recall to fix the drop, firearm going off issues. They did modifications to the slide and trigger, in fact I had to send in my slide from an X-change kit making my 40 compact into a subcompact. Sig stood by the statement that they didn’t think there was a design problem, but if you wanted to send it in, they’d do the modifications free of charge (hence saying in was a voluntary update). I didn’t have any problems prior, but figured I’d play it safe and send them (4) in.

Talking about a way to call a recall in a manner that there wasn't an issue. Hay guys let's find a way for our recall to sound like a non-issue. I wonder if all other the manufacturers will start using the same term?

I have a Sig P320 M-18 and my brother has a Sig P320 X Legion.
His legion is really nice, well balanced and the weighted grip does reduce felt recoil.
My M18, so so, I like most of my pistols better, but I wouldn't say I dislike it.

The drop fire issue was solved, at least to the point it passes the test. I'm confident they put a little more safety margin and it won't drop fire from even higher heights than the test. But looking at the solution, I can't say they eliminated the drop fire, so they may have just increased it to the point it would be unreasonable to expect it not to drop fire.

The lawsuits about the accidental discharges in purses and gym bags, is a mixed bag of facts and opinions. Just as much argument the owners bear some responsibility for carrying a pistol with a chambered round loose in a bag, and Sig that the pistol just went off. Sig says they have tried everything and can't duplicate the discharges.

I can't help but to think, the P320 not having any type of safety, either manual or automatic, "might" have something to do with it. No, I'm not saying I "know" that is the cause, heck I don't even know if the lawsuits are legit and not frivolous, I'm just saying I can help but to think it "might" have something to do with it.

BTW, the P320 M17/M18 civilian model has the military thumb safety, not sure if any other P320's have it, most don't have anything, no trigger lever safety, no grip safety, no manual safety. The civilian M17/M18 has a few differences from the actual military M17/M18. Nothing that is noticeable or changes the function or operation. I'm guessing they are assembled on two different lines.

I get on sig Sauer site just to check everything out. I'm not sure if I'd want a 320 tho? Just like my m&p 10mm some have issues, but I'm a lucky one I guess. Sorry for those on the miss list.
