Slide hard to operate

Larger caliber guns in a compact size usually have a much stiffer recoil spring to counter the recoil from the lack of mass with a compact slide.

There maybe some aftermarket springs for lighter racking.

Or something like this maybe helpful racking the slide.

Some of my smaller compact firearms became easier to rack after firing several 100 rounds through them down at the range. I'm hoping that will help my Magnum Research Desert Eagle 50 AE, which is a bear to rack. :sneaky:

Hello,
New xdm 45.cal 3.8 compact owner. The slide almost takes two hands to rack, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I put one on my Glock 23 so the wife could rack it. Arthur has her hands pretty good. She can rack
easily with the little assist on the back of the slide. A range buddy has bad Arthur and he was having a
terrible time racking his Glock 23. Let him try mine, I ordered and installed it on his. Only issue is a
holster. My shoulder holster won't accept the pistol with the assist attached.
