I bought myself a 4" 25-5 as a college graduation present. I loved the idea of a big fat lead slug moving at a speed allowing very controllable recoil. Nice DA trigger; nicer SA trigger. Beautiful bluing.

But it is an N-frame and N-frames feel huge to me. I tried carrying it for quite a while, but the N cylinder is just a little too big around for me.

I still have it, and probably always will. It's a fun shooter, and I just recently put together a bunch of new loads to try in it. My big carry revolver is an L-frame model 69 now, however. It's really only a little smaller, but it's enough to make a big difference on my side.

I love the .45 Colt cartridge and the S&W N-frame revolvers. I have 4" & 6" 25-5s, a 5" 25-7 and a custom 3.5" snubbie in that caliber. Great guns.
