For anyone watching this Forum who’s on a limited budget but wants something for home/self defense :

$340 is a great price…
I own an SD9 although it isn’t the two-tone VE model. Accurate at self-def range and beyond, always reliable (at least mine has been), two 16-rd mags, easy 3-dot white sights (and not tiny: quick line up/quick fire)…No frills.
Mine eats any brand 115 or 124 grain.
Apex Tactical offers a trigger kit - or a spring package - you can install yourself later if the longish trigger pull is a concern…

Again, for anyone on a limited budget that wants something that’ll work when needed.

No idea how long the sale is on.

The SD guns are very good, I have the SD40VE, not one issue with it, shoots everything I throw at it, these guns are very underrated

Totally agree - also with Sld’s remark above.

I have a M&P 2.0 compact FDE, and expected it to be a leap above my FDE/black SD9….but the truth is, it isn’t. :/ For me, anyhow.
I’d kinda rather i had the $ difference (~$225?) back, and another SD.
My 2.0 does have thumb safety, though. But doesn’t shoot any better.
Oh, one thing: I got my SD from Academy sports 3-4 yrs ago. Sale then was $299 !

I bought my SD40VE at a deep discount last year. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the SDVE. I always prefer to adjust to a stock trigger, and would only consider modifying a trigger if I simply couldn't shoot the gun with the stock trigger. The SDVE has a slightly long, heavy trigger, but it was fairly easy to shoot accurately with a little practice. The SDVE is probably the best handgun you will find in the $300 price range and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any shooter on a budget.
