Pretty good read, accurate to that point in history. Snipers have always been where they were needed, even when their actions were not official.

Reminds me of a great Stephen R Hunter book series point of impact , & a time to hunt, the movie “ shooter” was based off ( starring Marky Mark Wahlberg, who interestingly was also involved in the Shooter series Starring Ryan Philippe as Bob Lee Swagger)

Love my Remington Model 700, purchased in 1967 for me by my Dad as a high school graduation present. He was an Army marksmanship instructor before WW2 broke out when he shipped out to Europe. To this day, that rifle is as accurate as it was the first time I shot it. He had a friend at Remington who made sure it was a top pick (got an 870 Wingmaster thru him a year later). Did a lot of hunting with it, much of it in bad weather, and it never let me down. It's easy to see why snipers in Vietnam were using it.
