Snub revolvers are still relevant

I have never really been a big revolver guy, for no good reason other than I can only afford so many guns and calibers of ammo... They are beautiful things though. I did inherit this little guy and it can be quite chippy.

Nice Bulldog. I have one of the originals and yeah, it can be chippy, but there are much worse that do less.

When I am not going to be carrying a gun, the snubby always gets the vote. With my aging eyes, the early Colts sights are much easier to see. And snubbys shoot fantastic. The short sight radius makes it more difficult to shoot well, but mechanically they are capable of amazing feats of accuracy. A cop buddy of mine can go six for six double action on a man sized steel at 100 yards...and it is MY gun! Drives me crazy. A Colt Cobra (of course, considering my car) is the gun I always have on me.

I spent some time yesterday filing and sandpapering the “corner” of the trigger on my 642. Today I started shooting at 10’ like Hans suggested. It worked great. Didn’t bother my finger after 20 rounds, and I was hitting about half an inch to the right of my aiming point. All the shots were hitting there and I wound up with mostly one ragged hole. I would have shot more but I needed to get to work. :(. Thanks for the inspiration Hans.
