I like the 2 I have also (sbl and cb). Definitely a nice added leather. How's that swampfox?
That's the Swampfox Kentucky Long 2-12 x 44. That's a new addition and I haven't had a chance yet to sight it in. So far I'm impressed. It seems to be a well built scope.

It’s great to see they went with cut checkering instead of “heat” Press checkering with the black laminate and it’s very well done. I’d like to see one in black instead of bright SS.

When Marlin came out with the 1895 in the polished stainless steel and the gray laminate stock I knew I just had to have one. It took quite a while to find one at a decent price but I finally did. Shortly thereafter Marlin came out with their 1895 BDL with a blued finish and a walnut colored laminate stock. It looks absolutely fantastic.
I have to give Ruger credit, they took an already great Marlin design and made it better by making it better.
The Marlin 336 should be out almost any time and the 1894 is supposed to be out probably the second quarter of this year. They look great too.

A few years back I got one of the limited edition .45/70 1895 GSBL. I wanted a Marlin 45/70 for when I was in high-probability griz country. The GSBL checked all the boxes for an all-weather thick timber rifle with the main external parts being stainless steel then nitrided for more durability and a non-reflective finish. The laminated stock with the green weather-resistant coating added to the low-profile appearance.
I replaced the rear Williams Fire Sight with a Skinner Express "Black Gold" rear sight assembly for better sight radius.

Also, installed a WWG Lever Happy Tune kit for a better trigger pull, stronger ejector and a metal vs. plastic mag follower.
And a Hill People Gear stock cuff.

While it's a Remlin it was put together very well and I'm please with it for my local needs, as well if I head up north to Alaska for a hunting trip.
