Something borrowed something blue

although i have never seen the Nosler, i have seen a couple(??)of others that have some sort of "plug" in the tip of a hollow point, claiming that they are better then open hollow points, for penetration thru heavy clothing, or something like that.

i'll stick with my Federal HST's

i ain't saying they Nosler or the others don't work, i am sure they have been tested, but (to me) it just adds to the costs, then what are the availability of some of these "new fangled" rounds?

will this cause another "shortage" and spikes in prices..???

Regarding a plastic ballistic tip, Hornady makes several 9mm ballistic tips that work pretty well at the slower speeds of a short-barrel EDC pistol. Can't speak to Nosler. BTW, I carry HST as well in my EDC 9....but one video content provider on U-tube who I trust more than most has demonstrated significant expansion with Hornady's ballistic tips over many other hollow points at the slow speeds of carry pistols....HST not included in the tests I've seen from him. In short, those ballistic tips CAN be effective...

The G2 Gold Dot works the same way.

From what I’ve seen, these type of bullets do get very reliable expansion, but usually don’t expand as much as traditional JHP’s.

I’ve got some of the Critical Defense & Duty, but it’s all stuff that came with various trades back when I was pretty active on Armslist. About the only stuff I’ve carried was the .38+P in Airweights fir a while.
