So I've made no secret of my "Work conditions" around here. For 9 years I have been in the north STL city district, in very dangerous neighborhoods. I've been shot at numerous times and regularly wear body armor while I'm digging up utilities in the middle of the street.

Well, I am hesitant to make this post because I don't want to jinx myself, but 2 weeks ago a guy vacated a bid from a yard in the south district and I had seniority and had it signed so that's where I have been for the last couple weeks. It's south of STL in the suburbs. South STL county and primarily the next county south, which is the county I live in. Instead of looking at burned out neighborhoods and street thugs I have been looking at deer and McMansions. Now the guy who vacated this bid has 60 days to sign off, so he could bump me back out of there, hence why I didn't want to jinx myself, but indications are that he likes his new job and I will get to stay. It's a 20 minute drive from my house.

So I may be hanging up the 3A vest and leaving the heat in my lunch box. :)

Good on you! Nobody should have to work in your prior environment, unless it’s voluntary of course.
