I need a recommendation for a speed loader for a Springfield Armory DS, 9mm Prodigy magazine. If possible, please recommend a Springfield Armory product. I'm not too knowledgeable in firearms so please be specific..

I agree with the Maglula Uplula even though it is not a Springfield product. I have had one for a while now and it is a thumb saver! Plus, you can get even a new magazine completely full even if you have a touch (or more) of arthritis in your hands.

the 1911 magazines being slimmer the adaptor will make it easier to use the Maglula.

Another vote for the UPLULA.

I have 3 of them.

I don’t think the single stack adapter is necessary, though. I’ve used the UPLULA on 1911 and P7 mags with zero difficulty.

They used to include a fairly crappy one with the XDm.

I have a SA XDm .45, a XDs .45, and a 9mm Hellcat. All came with a loading "device". I won't call it a speed loader because the process is not that fast. But it does make it possible to top off my magazines to full capacity. And that is almost impossible to do by hand alone with the extended higher capacity Hellcat magazines. It works, but again, I wouldn't call the SA loaders "speed loaders". Go with what others are recommending.

Available in the SA store, I have one for my 45 and 40. They did make/offer one that was labeled as usable on 9mm, 40SW and 45ACP that one was junk.
The one for my 45ACP also loads my 10mm mags

Still wouldnt call that junk a speedloader

Didn’t work at all on 9mm and poorly on 40SW
The ones made for individual cartridge sizes worked great.

I have two SA loaders that came with the gun, never used them. the uplula loads about everything and easier.

My HK VP9SK also came with the factory HK loader. Similar to the SA loaders. It's not fast, but again, it allows you to load high-capacity magazines all the way up.

I got one with my Echelon, Hellcat and XD-M Elite. I prefer the Maglula.

In my usual “fat, dumb and happy” mentality, I have always associated speed loaders with something from HKS or similar that will hold a revolver reload. The only semi auto speed loader to me is an extra full magazine.

But, for loading the magazines, give me an Uplula any day!

i have several revolver speed loaders, used them, maybe all of 3 times.
