The only non-Edge hardware seems to be the lower from what I can tell, so considering the brace and maybe a few other more expensive bits... I don't thing that the price is bad at all. I paid $1599 at my local LGS.
Saw a Saint Edge PDW at a LGS today for just south of $1500. Was so hard to walk out of there without it.
Could've sold it online for 2500.Saw a Saint Edge PDW at a LGS today for just south of $1500. Was so hard to walk out of there without it.

I placed an order for a an Edge PDW back in December 2020 at my LGS and paid in full. I was told it would be 3-6 months so I patiently waited. I kept periodically checking and was told it was still coming. After 6 months passed I started calling SA direct and was told there was a parts shortage and that orders were being filled slowly. I kept periodically contacting both my LGS and SA. Finally my LGS said they received an email from their rep (they don't order direct apparently) saying that if the order had not been received yet (end of June), the order was not coming. I called SA direct and was told basically that production on the PDW and Saint pistols as a whole was on hold due to both parts shortages and the unknown future of firearms in this classification as a whole. I was told the Victor version of the PDW came about as an attempt to provide a PDW product and it would have as much of the functionality as the Edge version that could be transferred over to the Victor lower (ambi-safety, Reptila grip, Edge charging handle, etc.).
So... I went ahead and cancelled my order with my LGS (no point in waiting for something that is not going to be delivered) and went online to find a Victor PDW (good luck finding an Edge for a reasonable price). The model numbers are the same except for the STE is now STV (as pointed out in this thread).
So the Victor version is likely a very solid option that I can only say could have been better communicated by SA to their customers. It's a crazy time for them too. Just my own personal experience regarding this subject...
Absolutely... crazy times are impacting everyone so patience and understanding is important to exercise. The customer service at SA has been more than forthcoming with whatever information they had available and even went as far as going out to the production lines to get direct feedback from those with hands on the products. Hasn't diminished my loyalty to the brand at all. Hopefully the post helps fill in some gaps in what happened with the Edge PDW product, I know I had a questions and was fortunate enough to get some helpful information.Wish things would've worked out better for you. Likely will later. Can be a hectic time for everyone with so many uncertainties in so many areas and fields. You're far from only person effected. Sounds like you realize that too? That's a good thing. Am thinking sometimes we all forget from time to time? It happens, I do. Possibly as a form of mental survival? Beats me though! As a rule have learned to expect the unexpected.
In some ways is sort of like shopping at flea markets or garage sales? See something concrete, want it, need it, get it because it may not be there just a short time later? Anymore, rarely get something just because like or just want. Actually needing something is another issue like with ammo that eventually runs out. I try hard not to be in that needing situation with caps, limits, buffers and reserves. If don't really need something, I leave it on shelves for someone else and walk away.
Crazy times? Yes, they are! Sometimes like a roller-coaster!Absolutely... crazy times are impacting everyone so patience and understanding is important to exercise.
