Also, it was pretty much the 4th version of guns that were already available…Colt, Sig & Kimber having models out before it.

I bought the low cost Alpha model. Maybe they'll resurrect it one day.

I'm hoping they are doing a redesign to make the 911's stack-and-a-half. IMO, a 10+1 round 911 would put Smith & Wesson's new 10+1 hammer-fired CSX micro 9 to shame. Ruger managed to turn the .380 acp LCP II into the 10+1 LCP Max by adding fractions of an inch to the frame width. If Springfield could do the same thing to the 911 I'd definitely buy it in either caliber.

I had one of the 911 in 9mm, two tone, it shot and functioned fine, my only issue was the ambi safty, my hand is a bit fleshy and when I engaged the safety, I could not disengage it, the ambi dug into my hand and I couldn’t take safety off off unless I used both hands, so I got rid of it, I should have just got the version with just the regular safety.
