Springfield Armory flip up sights

Anyone ever have to file the lug under the sight base that fits into the picatinny rail. I purchased these new from Springfield and the back one went right on. The front one is really tight on the front picatinny rail. I tried it on the back section of the picatinny rail and it would fit right on. So the front picatinny rail lugs must be a little wider. I went ahead and filed the one side of the lug under the front sight base that fits between the picatinny rail lugs and now it fits. I'm new to this so I hope it was the right thing to do?

I just purchased the SAINT Edge PDW AR-15 Pistol 5.56 new from my local Gun store and it did not have any sights. That's why I purchased the Springfield set from the Springfield store.

I don't think you should have to file the rail. If the rail is out of spec I think I'd be changing it. Or maybe the sights are out of spec. Pretty sure they're Chinese so.....
Yes the 2 front rail lugs are out of spec. The front sight would sit just fine on the back rail lugs. I got it installed just fine.....just a little snug which is a good thing...I guess?
