Never lucky or smart enough to own one but did have a chance to shoot one. one of those guns that fits so well in your hand and shoots even better than it feels. Didn't want to put it down.
When I first got into recreational shooting almost a decade ago, I purchased a TriStar/Canik CZ75 clone. The gun functioned flawlessly, but the plastic grips felt cheap and I quickly moved on to other pistols. The thing had been sitting in the safe for years when I saw this post. If Springfield was at one time willing to offer a CZ75 clone, then maybe I gave up on my L120 too soon.
I liked the grips on the SA, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to see if I could find anything on Amazon. $27 and less than 24 hours later, I was the owner of a new set of Pachmayr wood grips. It's not as pretty as the Springfield, but it is a tremendous improvement. Tayln's throwback posts are starting to cost me money, but I'm trying to justify the expense by remembering that it cost less to customize the gun than it would to buy a 50 round box of 9mm ammo on most websites.
