Does anyone know if there is a plan by Springfield to make a Springfield EMP in a 3 or 4 inch 10mm caliber? I purchased a Springfield EMP 4 in 40S&W caliber for my wife, out of the box, at the range, the silhouette didn’t stand a chance, bullseye in the center of the forehead and where ever else she chose to target. It’s a very nice gun. I’m considering the Springfield Ronin 5” in 10mm but really would prefer a EMP 3” in 10mm. Just wondering if one may be on the horizon?

The EMP is not a full size 1911, it’s been downsized just for the 9mm, they did offer it in .40 like the one you got, none of its parts are interchangeable with a standard 1911. The EMP would never handle the 10mm or .45, since it’s smaller then the standard 1911 format. I would get the Ronin if you want a 10mm 1911.

Earlier this year I purchased the Springfield XDm-Elite 3.8” in the compact in 10mm. That seams nice enough. I just don’t care for a 5 inch barrel to carry.
