Springfield recall question

New member here, never knew this place existed !!

So I'm looking to get my carry permit and have narrowed the firearm choice down to the MP Shield and the Springfield XD-S, each in .45.
(No I don't want a 9, I live in NJ and we are only allowed 10 round mags, I'll sacrifice 3 rounds for an extra 117 grains of lead in each shot - .45 ACP, because... why shoot twice)
I have the opportunity to pick up a lightly used XD-S but do not know if it was ever sent in for the recall.
In case it was not, is Springfield still honoring that ?

There’s a very easy way to tell; if the grip safety has a roll pin visible right where it meets the back of the grip, it’s either post recall or has been recalled and fixed.

No idea if SA still honors it.

Yep. That better more gooder math work every time 🤠

I have the XD-E in .45. I went back to my good ol' model 457 for carry because I found the recoil to be too much for a quick recovery. It is fun to shoot at the range, however.
I have a fix for that. Shoot a few cylinders of 44 mag, or 357 mag, then go to the .45.
It's like swinging the heavy practice bat before taking your bat to the plate. Makes shooting the .45 feel like a light 38 special load
Srsly ! Not kidding, try it

Yeah, about that...... I don't think I'll have the time to do all of that at an ATM while some hooligan is trying to take my money and car key away from me. Otherwise, agreed!

I have the XDs .45 that fell under the recall. I probably had 1500 rounds through it before it went in for the recall. Never had any kind of malfunction before it went in for the recall. Once I had it back, I had one failure to extract in around 2000 more rounds through it. It was my edc for close to a decade. I love that pistol. Now it is a drawer gun/backup gun. I just decided to move onto a different edc. It is a great pistol.
