Springfield SA-35 Hi-Power Evaluation & Testing Session 8 - Shooting 11 Varieties of Ammo INCLUDING +P !

Can anyone give me a synopsis of 1-8 is it good to go?
It depends on how a "hard-core" BHP person you are.

All I hope is that I hope the SA SA-35 department has been watching these evaluations, and thinking about a Gen 2 SA-35.

And I would hope that these vids would be of interest to any gunsmith that works on BHPs, and the look-a-like variants.

I wish they’d hurry up and get to Session 42.
THAT’S the one I want to see !
As a ~35 yr BHP owner/user I find these vids informative, not only in this evaluation of the SA-35, but of the design as a whole.

As an ~90 yr old design the BHP has it's design idiosyncracies, and while "old-school" it's not as forgiving as the 1911 is based on those idiodyncracies.

I would have preferred a full and complete SA-35 test on a stock gun and then their "improved" or "custom" gun. I have an interest in the new product, but the sales job on these parts and enhancements colors what I'm wanting to see. Sigh.
What is the cost of each item? Is it absolutely necessary? What is the cost to date? How much after the refinishing? I'm not a tack driving shooter, so I'm more interested in minute of bad guy. So far, I think an extractor may need replacing, but the warranty should cover it in the event it fails. I have a handful of sub-$500 guns that run like stink, so if I need to spend that kind of money or more, it aint gonna happen.

I wish I could order one from their site......non of the lgs' have them and cant or wont order.

I was in some wonderment about beyond the target........does he shoot everything that way........did not see any holes in the shed though.............?

BHSS replaced parts based on their detailed examination, and concerns for safely shooting the handgun due to what they discovered.

Parts replacement started with the obvious need with the Type 1 sear plate, then as shooting tests were done with other issues that came up; extractor, etc....

BHSS did not refinish the SA-35 after they had to take care of the numerous sharp edges (also reported elsewhere).

BHSS was totally transperant on what they liked about the SA-25, and what they discovered during their evaluations.

Alot of folks don't realize the BHP design has several functional idiosyncracies. FN had things down pat after 80+ years of production, but others that want to produce their own versions (like Tisas a couple yrs ago) have a learning curve to figure out.
