springfield saint victor pistol

I have a new saint victor pistol. I have not fired it yet. I have run some dummy rounds to get used to the function of the gun. After I load a round and go to eject it by pulling the charging handle the handle will not pull back. It seems to be stuck. It only does this when a round is chambered.I have to use a screwdriver to dislodge the carrier and after moving it about 1/4 inch it will pull back the rest of the way and eject the round. It only sticks when a round is chambered. When the chamber is empty I can pull the charging handle with no problem. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

It has not been fired yet. It is as I purchased it new.
From what I could find googling the problem it could be your bolt. Do you have another AR you could swap BCGs and see if that fixes the problem ?

Edited because I didn't read your post fully before typing. The gun came new covered in a cosmoline type protective grease. That's gonna be the problem most likely. ALWAYS, strip, clean and lube a new gun before firing it.

Thanks,I will try that.

Another note to ponder, if you made this dummy round, you have to full length resize the case for it for a semi auto rifle, if not, it might not chamber right, on any semi auto rifle round, you have to do a full length resize for it, not a neck size like on a bolt gun.

I actually bought the rounds from someone on EBAY. I am going to try a live round with the safety on.

I suggest before you do ANYTHING, you get the packing grease out of and off of the gun. That includes taking the BCG apart and cleaning and lubing it. If this is not something you have ever done, there are about 6 million videos on the web that show you step by step and everyone here is more than willing to help you too. Beware of losing small parts, they are all important. It is really pretty simple and is something you are going to need to do often so you might as well start learning now. But it is important to get that crap out of there and lube the gun. That should be your first priority. Then mess with the dummy round.

Dummy rounds can be finicky in certain firearms. I have some 10mm A-Zoom dummies that tend to jam up after cycling 3 of the 5 rounds every time in an XDM. The pistol functions flawless with live rounds and gets hung up with dummies.

Thanks for the info.
