springfield saint's barrel durability

how many shots does a springfield saint's barrel last??
Tens of thousands of rounds.
Here is an answer from a barrel maker

At least 2 to 3 rounds JK 😂🤣

Honestly most AR barrels should last past 20,000 rounds though different factors can have an effect on barrel erosion like the type of round shot and how many rounds per minute are put through the barrel such as a full auto rifle.

This is an article from 2012, and I apologize for all the popups. While corrosion and lack of maintance can take a toll on a barrel, excessive heat is also a factor.

And what happens to accuracy when your barrel heats up? Another older article with food for thought.

I don't know. If they say 20 to 30k rounds that isn't really all that much for someone who shoots a lot.
IF a civilian actually burns out a barrel from 10,000 + rounds of normal use, a couple hundred $$ barrel is of little consequence in the grand scheme.

Lets do the math: pre covid cheap prices even. Lets go low burn out rate of 10k rounds.
$5 a box of 55 gr 20 rd box
10,000 rds / 20 rd = 500 boxes
$5 x 500 = $2500

So 20,000 rds would be $5000 in ammo costs. $250 for a barrel is chump change and normal for the use of 20k rounds and $5k

I replaced the barrel on my trainer Colt LE6920 after about 25k rounds. Replaced the BCG at the same time.

Still have the original barrel, though..it still has some life left in it, should I really need one.
