State of Play: Political and Legal Trends to Watch For

A bit of an off-the-cuff musing about the current state of the second amendment legal world. I've been in this debate for a long time, and I think we've got a lot of momentum behind us- but I also think there's some serious risk in the future. The debate is not over, not by a long shot.

Imho we have, at best, a “stay”. The leftists have been pushing “gun control” for decades, and their rational gets more extreme as years go by. I’m an old fart, but I’ve seen them playing their games and pushing their BS since GCA 68. We get a reprieve on occasion, but they always have (and always will) continue to push their agenda as long as any firearms are available. Why? It’s damned hard to enslave armed people (not how WE treated the American Indians, how Hitler treated Germany, and how Stalin and Mao operated.). Eternal vigilance is THE only way to preserve freedom. Pres. Reagan famously said “Freedom is always only one generation away from extinction”. We just dodged a big bullet, but the fight isn’t over. Hoping it is isn’t a viable option.
