does springfield have any plans/interest in 911 continuation, older styled 1911 steel construction non composite mfr ops or has that era gotten beyond consideration by current ownership?
Well there is the Sig version, I know Kimber has one but I won’t recommend it with the issues with there customer support I had with the one I hadI love my 911. I bought the most expensive one available though. I really want a couple more. At least one more for the wife. I wont pay $1000 off gun broker though.
having chk"ed out from the goings on period where the 911 saw popularity, (that i assume is2010-2020), what was the avg gunstore price tag? guessing again., the 911 discon was approx2018, right? ...if you were to guess, why would a company that was and had been leaders in weapon design and established so well, abandon those models to usher in whats gotta be #1 most acquard and least draw of interest (sd line i think its labeled) weapons of the post covid-could still be rolling in profits....there it is--solved it i think - polymer profits since the consumer will cave to whats left available!I love my 911. My Micro 9, first trip to range, less then 50 rounds, where slide meets hammer during recoil, hammer chipped, got it home, took it apart and guide rod was also bent, called there CS and was told hammer chipping was normal and guide rod was my fault they would repair it, got rid of it, now I own several of there 1911’s, no issues with them and they shoot greatkimber is still premium stuff, right? what exactly was cust serv problem?

My TRP just came back and is still grinding away after a couple of mags. I know there’s usually a break in period but man that thing just doesn’t want to run.I paid about 540 for mine, but @HansGruber is right, wasn’t Springfield’s design. Is a purdy piece though. They had a lot of production problems with the 911. I’ve had a few conversations with support about the 911. Mine had a 40% FTF/FTE both, out of the box. Springfield polished it up, reamed the chamber and it runs like no one’s business now. I’ve never had a Springfield returned to me that didn’t run flawless when it came back. If that type of work was done from the start, it probably wouldn’t have been such a money pit.
Was supposed to say wouldn’t repair it, I really hate this Apple auto correct/insert crap!they would repair it, got rid of it,
I always have to go back and correct the spell check, usually after I posted. Was supposed to say wouldn’t repair it, I really hate this Apple auto correct/insert crap!
appreciate the details - very surprising and disappointing to hear. All that and 'normal chipping' !?! My patience has just been motivated to wait out this insanity we are seeing and hearing. Not that my finances were in any shape to absorb expense of funds anyhow! it appears that most of these arenas aren't really returning to what most would like - and not so long ago was standard in most business interactions. My Micro 9, first trip to range, less then 50 rounds, where slide meets hammer during recoil, hammer chipped, got it home, took it apart and guide rod was also bent, called there CS and was told hammer chipping was normal and guide rod was my fault they would repair it, got rid of it, now I own several of there 1911’s, no issues with them and they shoot great
I had the same problem but usually i squitned out the typing because i misplaced the glasses i should have had thru it all. Whats really odd is that what i struggle to accomplish with todays devices, I dont give a second thought if i take the time to turn on a PC. And usually wrap things up, in a snap....got me right where they want me, they do!I always have to go back and correct the spell check, usually after I posted.
I’m 50/50. It’s a pain to email my pictures to myself then copy to the laptop just to make a post. Easier to do it right from the phone.I had the same problem but usually i squitned out the typing because i misplaced the glasses i should have had thru it all.
