Stevens 334 - any good?

LGS has a Labor Day sale coming up, and one offering is Stevens 334 in synthetic for $340 or turkish walnut for $410.
(I believe these only come in .308 ? But thats a solid old rifle caliber anyway).

Ques:
If you own one, would you pick it again?
Accuracy?
Any known issues?
Is the quality (fit, finish etc) decent?

I believe Stevens is made by Savage…and Savage makes great bolt action rifles.

At the price? I’d go for it, if I was looking for a .308 bolt…

I think you’re right in that Stevens’ label is owned by Savage. I think this particular rifle is Turkish made - I don’t know about the rest of Savages stuff though That could explain the price, come to think of it.

Stevens is Savage. I don't know if they keep the lines separate or not, but I can tell you I have Stevens and Savage 12 gauge doubles and they are nearly identical.

I have two Savage Axis rifles and they are excellent rifles at a very nice price. If Steven's is on par, which I have heard they are, they are well worth purchasing.
