Stoeger guns..????

Old_Me

SAINT
ok, so this past november i think it was, i bought online from a new to me retailer, "Green Top", in Ashland, VA.

i bought 2 containers of Lyman's corn cob, treated brass polishing media.

that's the set up.

i get sales emails often, i can unsubscribe anytime.

todays email, they have Stoeger semi-automatic guns..??

never heard of them, and i can see they are cheap as well, almost like a Hi Point..??

any info on them...???

thanks in advance

PS, i have no intentions of buying one.

i just did a search, and found this

Stoeger Industries' headquarters are in Accokeek, Maryland, United States. Stoeger is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benelli USA, which in turn is owned by Italian firearms conglomerate Beretta Holding S.A.[1][2] Besides marketing a line of tactical and hunting shotguns as well as air rifles, Stoeger also serves as an FFL for importing firearms by Uberti, also a member of the Benelli/Beretta group.

Because of the significant corporate interrelationships, the actual country of manufacturing origin of Stoeger firearms varies based on both the specific model and the year of its manufacture. Current Stoeger firearms have their manufacturing origins in countries such as Brazil, Italy, Turkey, and the United States

being that they are owned by Beretta, is the Stoeger (in opinions) better than say the Hi Point..???

I know people who like Stoegers, I do not think I would classify them with Hipoints. At one time I think the Stoeger Cougar was very highly thought of and reviewed. I know a number of people who use thier coach guns in cowboy action shooting.

Back in the 70s and 80s they sold imported 22 LR Lugers as well as shotguns that I remember.
I'm not familiar with what they import these days.
They imported the 22 Lugers from Germany.
Prior to its acquisition by Beretta in 2000, Stoeger was located in New Jersey, and prior to that was the largest gun store in New York City.

I have a Stoeger double barrel coach gun for cowboy shooting. It's a lower end gun that has mixed support, some swear by them and others swear at them. For about $500, it is about half to one third the cost of other guns.
I've been tempted by a couple of pistols over the years, like the Cougar. I think their warranty covers 5 years. The ones I'm familiar with are made in Turkey I believe.
As far as warranties go, Ruger has the best since you do not need to be the original purchaser.

So Stoeger is currently owned by Benelli, so I have looked at a few of their auto-loading shotguns. I know two people that use pump shotguns, and both have run flawlessly according them. I need to eventually replace my nearly 20 year old Benelli Nova. But I think I will just buy a new Nova, want to step down to a 26-inch barrel. I still have original fiber optic sights on it, which are currently close to useless.

Stoeger IIRC owns the patent on those chassis guns everyone is so gaga about. Like Sig
320, 365 and the others that have a removable trigger/fire control chassis. I may be mistaken but I'm thinking that Sig had to pay some royalties to Stoeger, I seem to remember a court case when Sig first unveiled them.

I have the Stoeger in .40. I carried the Berretta Mini Cougar in 9mm on the Job. Berretta sold machines to Stoeger. I forgot where they was making them, but they was less expensive from Stoeger for the same firearm.
