No matter how many safety measures are put in place, drag racing will always be a dangerous sport. That said, you don't have to lean into that by riding in the bed of a wheelie-popping truck—with nothing but a helmet on—while it completes a pass.

If they want to do stupid 💩 on their own time away from a sanctioned event, well, Darwin Award awaits.
To do that at a sanctioned event and at a formal track, that numbskull TV meathead needs to not step foot on another track. He just screwed the pooch for all the other dragsters.
Have fun finding other tracks to host him, his events or not slap some massive $$$$$ on his insurance policy to be part of an event.

People do the stupidest things, I look at it as self thinning the herd, making the shallow gene pool even shallower.
Someday the stupid may be bred out.
