the other day, i went to insert my magazines (1 at a time of course) into my Girsan MC Regard, the Beretta 92 FS clone.
i'll be darned if the would not insert easily. then each one was "locked in" the magwell..!!
for the life of me, i could not get them to drop out..
now, on that gun, i had replaced the grips, with GUUUN grips.... and with the Torx screws as well
now, i have installed grips on many of my guns so far, and never this issue......what i had to do was "back off" a bit on the grip screws, and the mags fell out like they should.
i should also mention, the are ALL MecGar mags, i bought from Girsan..the 1 original was "stuck" as well as the other 3..??
like WTF..??
those grip screws were not "cranked down", or over torqued. (as a former mechanic) i can "feel" tightness in tightening...just like when i used "feeler gauges", once you acquire that "feel" it's second nature.
they were "hand tightened" and carefully, cuz i know the threads are very thin in the bushings. (as well as the screws themselves)
so what say you..???
was it possible that the grips were "squeezing" the frame to prevent the mags from dropping?
and this by the way, i have shot that gun, with the new grip installed..!! and NO issues on ejecting the mags then...!!
all i do with my mags, is wipe them down when they arrive in the mail, or take them home from the store, and after each range visit...
