Am going to try to do this, this summer. Where else you get to sleep on a sub. It's pricy but a once in a lifetime thing probably.

Many years ago (25-30?)when I was working with the Boy Scouts, our troop went down to Mobile and spent the night aboard the U.S.S. Alabama. We boarded at 4:00pm when the tourist hours were ending. They put us up in the Petty Officers section. Still a big open bay with stacks of bunks, but a little more room plus a couple of tables and chairs to sit and relax.
We had all night to explore the ship in ways normal tourists never got to.
This was one of our most memorable "camp outs". I really enjoyed it.
Sadly, I don't think they allow this anymore.

I spent 4 years on nuclear subs, USS Narwhal SSN-671, and USS Henry L. Stimpson SSBN-655 (B). An enjoyable adventure. Only drawback is that now I won't get on a boat unless I can see land all the way around.

spend a night onboard...even if its tied a pier...awesome

When my son was in Cub Scouts, our Pack did a sleepover on the USS Lexington aircraft carrier. It was a great adventure for the boys! My grumpy old ***, not so! lol
