Swampfox Optics

McGanksta

Operator
Just picked up the AOS A12b Plate for my CDR length Operator that should be in next week, or the week after.
From the start I knew I wanted the smaller RMSc footprint; after doing research I really like the Swampfox Sentinel 2, but it is out of stock at the moment. I can get a first gen Sentinel for about $150 as a place holder. Anyone have any experience, issues, pros/cons with Swampfox optics?

Check optics planet as they carry swampfox

Interesting story, I bought a Sentinel II a couple of weeks ago on eBay. I got the optic delivered no problem, but when it arrived it was missing an optional rear sight that attaches in front of the window. I email Swampfox and get a very quick response asking where I purchased the optic and when I tell them they immediately respond with, it’s counterfeit and they’ve been working with eBay to get the seller shutdown and that I should contact eBay to get my money back. I contact eBay, explain what was going on and send the the email thread with Swampfox and eBay literally refounds my money within 15 minutes! I never really paid attention to the fact that the optic was almost half of the normal retail price - which is usually the giveaway. So happy resolution there, but what flips me out is that the optic, everything in the box, including the battery that comes with it all look legit. I’ve seen counterfeit optics off of Amazon and they invariably look dodgy. Not this optic. I think the seller may have been getting his goods off the back of a truck as we would say in the old neighborhood. Actually, in the old neighborhood we would just say they were nicked - which was almost a badge of honor. So I’m thinking of putting the optic on a gun that I just use at the range to see how long it will last.

Here’s some pics of the whole package. Even the promotional pieces with QR codes to Swampfox worked.

i have more trust in ebay than amazon! ebay will actually call you back within 15 minutes (usually states 1 hour). i only had 2 issues with a few products on there that was resolved very quickly. amazon, not so much as they've never call me back about issues. i HATE dealing with it via email or any kind of typing/texting. it's a waste of time!

I’ve never had to call Amazon.

Late last night I ordered a Streamlight. It’ll be here Saturday. Assuming they can get into the neighborhood. I suppose I could call god and complain if the river decides it wants to come up here. Again.

This makes me a little bit leery to purchase the Gen1 I came across on Amazon now.

Way back when the P356XL first came out, I bought the first Swampfox Sentinel for it, then later I converted a P365 SAS to mount an optic and bought a second. Never had an issue with either, both always worked when they were supposed to, and batteries lasted fine. Even with a military discount, those two cost me quite a bit more than $150 each! They went out the door along with the P365s when I dumped all my Sigs. My favorite optic now are the various models of the Holosun solars, SCS-MOS, SCS-Carry (this on my Hellcat OSP). Love not dealing with batteries and being able to charge with a solar watch charger if I think it’s needed. They’ve worked for me as advertised as well.

I have a Swampfox Kingslayer (discontinued) that I've been very satisfied with. I've used it on my Springfield Echelon and my Ruger 10/22. The only downside with the Kingslayer is that it would turn off and on with the Echelon in a holster. The buttons protrude and there is no way to lock them down.
Whichever optic you choose make sure your holster will not press the buttons, or better yet, that you can lock the buttons down.
